Organature® works to European Organic Standards, as Australian and U.S. certifications are not good enough for Peter, our founder, who for many years suffered severely from M.C.S. About Our Organically Inspired Business
Organature® is the name for our Family owned and run business based in the South Gippsland region of Victoria. We operate a sewing room, a showroom and an online shop where we produce many different products for the home, the bedroom and the body.
From our sewing rooms we produce items such as bed linen, sheets, pillows cases, rugs, blankets, clothing and much more. The major difference between the items we produce and the similar items which you may buy from the local shopping centre is that we use “Organic” and “Chemical Free” materials to manufacture our products.
As many people would understand, Organic products are ones which are produced without chemicals of any sort. The health benefits from using organic products are varied and significant. We should point out there is also a difference between “Organic” and “Certified Organic”. Organature® use Certified Organic materials, which basically means that our products are made from genuine organic materials.
Why We’re So Passionate About Organics
One of the Organature founders (Peter) was diagnosed with Multiple Chemical Sensitivity or MCS back in 1993. There was limited information available for this strange condition, other than the general advice of keeping away from Chemicals as mush as possible. As many could appreciate, there was not a great deal one could do back in the early 1990’s to avoid chemicals as almost everything we did had some (or a lot) of chemicals in the products we ate, wore and slept on or in.
Not wanting to sit around and suffer the debilitating effects of MCS, Peter and his family started to source organic cotton for which to make bed linen and clothing. What started out as a personal health battle became a business which now provides many Organic Cotton products for homes across Australia and indeed homes overseas.

The Australian Hardwood Furniture is manufactured to give people even more options when it comes to creating a home with less dangerous and health affecting chemicals.
